Before the commencement of Agroha Dham's construction, there was nothing here. Initially, the condition of 2-3 rooms built by the Agrasen Engineering and Technical College Society had deteriorated.

On October 29, 1979, Agroha Development Trust's then-chairman, Shri Balakrishna Goyanka, along with five companions, inspected a portion of the mound in Agroha.

The bricks sent from Delhi were worshipped, with Shri Krishna Avatar Gupta, the then Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Banarsi Das Gupta, his wife, Pandit Ji in the middle, Late Shri Murarilal Bansal, and Shri Devaraj Agarwal on the right.

The auspicious ground-breaking ceremony for Agroha took place through a yagna on September 29, 1976.

The groundbreaking ceremony in Agroha

A request was made to the then Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Banarsi Das Gupta, for the foundation-laying ceremony, but due to his illness, he couldn't visit Agroha. At the suggestion of Shri Shrikishan Modi, the then President of the All India Agarwal Conference, Shri Rameshwardas Gupta arranged for the preparation of five bricks. These bricks were sent to Chandigarh in the hands of Shri Krishnaavatar Gupta, the younger brother of Shri Rameshwardas Gupta, and Shri Devaraj Agarwal, the younger brother of late Shri Tilakraj Agarwal. The Chief Minister performed a traditional puja of these bricks and blessed the work of the Agroha Development Trust. These bricks were then brought to Agroha and laid as the foundation. On September 29, 1976, the foundation-laying ceremony was organized in Agroha. The foundation-laying was carried out by the hands of Shri Shrikishan Modi, the President of the All India Agarwal Conference. The ceremony was chaired by the then Chairman of the Trust, late Shri Devisahay Jindal.

In this ceremony, hundreds of men and women from states like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar participated. Notable figures included the conference president Shri Shrikishan Modi, the secretary of the conference and the Agroha Development Trust Shri Rameshwardas Gupta, Dr. Ram Singh, Master Lakshminarayan Agarwal, Shri Vasheshwar Nath Gotewale, Vaidya Niranjan Lal Gautam, Shri Harpatrai Tatiya, late Shri Tilakraj Agarwal, late Shri Ramkavar Gupta, and late Pt. Manudatt Sharma.

The land acquisition for construction

The officials of Shri Agarsen Engineering and Technical College Society Agroha (Registered) provided 23 acres of land to the Agroha Development Trust free of cost. The land was officially registered on October 5, 1976, at the Registrar's office in Delhi. The documents were signed by the Chairman of Shri Agarsen Engineering and Technical College Society Agroha (Registered), Shri Tilakraj Agarwal, and the Secretary, Shri Devkinandan Gupta. On behalf of the Agroha Development Trust, Minister Shri Rameshwardas Gupta signed the documents. Master Lakshminarayan Agarwal and Shri Babulal Salmevala signed as witnesses.

Water management in Agroha

Due to the salinity of water in Agroha and the surrounding areas, there was a severe scarcity of drinking water. The Haryana government had initiated the construction of waterworks in Agroha, but the waterworks were being built on a very small scale. To address this issue, Shri Rameshwardas Gupta contacted the then Finance Minister of Haryana, Shri Ramsaranchand Mittal, on January 30, 1977. Shri Mittal had also summoned the engineers from the Water Department to Agroha. He ordered the expansion of the waterworks so that it could adequately meet the water needs of pilgrims visiting Agroha and attending the fairs held there. As a result of this effort, the waterworks in Agroha were expanded fourfold.

After the waterworks were operational in Agroha, the problem of drinking water was resolved. However, the provision of water for construction work had still not been arranged.

Mr. Suresh Kumar Gupta, the former minister of the Agroha Development Committee, not only played a significant role in the initial construction of Agroha but also arranged for water supply from Hisar to Agroha through his tankers.

On October 30, 1979, Mr. Rameshwardas Gupta invited Mr. Balwant Rai Tapal, the then Finance Minister of Haryana, to Agroha Tirth. During the visit, Mr. Tapal was made aware of the water shortage issue hindering the construction work. Mr. Tapal instructed the engineering department to provide water from the waterworks canal for the construction of Agroha Tirth. Engineers from the water department suggested that if they receive water from the main canal for the waterworks, they can supply water to Agroha Tirth as well. Consequently, arrangements were made to supply water from the main canal to the waterworks, ensuring the availability of water for construction purposes.

Mr. Chananmal Bansal, during his tenure as chairman, obtained approval from the Haryana government to directly fetch water from the canal for Agroha Tirth. Subsequently, Mr. Nandkishore Goyanka further advanced this project, ensuring direct water supply from the canal.

The beginning of fundraising.

In the beginning, donation certificates of denominations of 100/-, 10/-, and 5/- were issued to gather funds. Additionally, positions such as Protector Trustee, Life Trustee, Special Trustee, and Annual Trustee were established. Stones inscribed with the names of donors were placed on donation certificates and rooms, etc., to collect funds.

Formation of the construction committee.

In 1977, a construction committee was established based on individuals such as Shri Vasudev Agarwal, Late Shri Lalman Arya, Shri Suresh Kumar Gupta, Shri Shubhakaran Churuvwala, and Shri Chhabildas, among others. Additionally, a trust account was opened in a bank in Hisar. Over time, there were changes in the committee's composition, with several individuals joining as members at various intervals.
