Maharaja Agrasen Medical College and Hospital in Agroha.

After becoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Banarsi Das Gupta facilitated the establishment of the 'Agroha Development Board' by the Haryana government. Following this, plans were made for the establishment of Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Hospital, and Research Institute in Agroha based on matching grants. As per the agreement, the Haryana government was providing half of the funding, while the other half was being raised by the Agarwal community. The Haryana government had acquired 267 acres of land and allocated it to the institution. Additionally, as per the agreement, the Haryana government would bear 11% of the recurring expenses, while the institution would bear 1%.

On May 21, 1989, the then Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Devi Lal, laid the foundation stone of the Medical College, Hospital, and Research Institute. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on July 16, 1990. After that, construction commenced. The inauguration of one wing took place on August 7, 1994, by the then Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Bhajan Lal. The college started functioning in 1994, and academic activities began.

In the initial stages, Padma Shri Dhanushyam Das Goyal, Chairman, played a significant role in the construction of Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Hospital, and Research Institute, along with Vice-Chairman Late Shri Ram Kishore Gupta, Minister Shri Nandkishore Garg, and Treasurer Shri Om Prakash Jindal.

On July 11, 1995, a meeting was held in the Haryana government's office in Chandigarh with representatives from the government and the college. After this meeting, the Haryana government discontinued funding. At the end of 1997, the officials of Maharaja Agrasen Medical College were changed, and the following officials assumed responsibilities.

The management committee pursued the matter of government funding vigorously through the judicial system. The High Court ruled in favor of the committee. Subsequently, the Haryana government filed an appeal against this decision in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
